Position | Employment | Contractual Position Start/End Date | Mid-January, 2017 - May, 2017 *(Additional work in June/July may apply) Position Description | Spotlight Events, based in Eagle, Idaho, is a touring National Dance Competition organization and producers of one-of-a kind competitive dance events throughout the United States. With a focus on excellence in everything we do, our culture is dynamic and inspiring. This is a position based in Eagle, ID that will transport production equipment via a 26’ CDL Penske truck to our nationwide events. A Class B CDL, outstanding and reliable transport skills, a clean driving record and the capacity to work independently on deadline-critical timelines are essential. Drivers play a crucial role in the loading, transport and unloading of equipment at each of our dance competitions. In addition, this position may require on-event participation in an assigned event staff role during the competition. This can include working in a variety of roles and will be discussed during the interview process. Drivers will report directly to the Production Director of Spotlight Events. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual possessing these skills to be a part of a talented, committed and innovative team. Primary Responsibilities | • Drive a 26' CDL rated Penske box truck, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver production equipment, usually over long distance, to appx. 15 events across the U.S. • Assist in the loading and unloading of equipment at designated warehouses and event facilities • Adhere to DOT driver regulations and maintain accurate DOT log books • Maneuver truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from support crew members as needed. • Drive truck to weigh station before and after loading, and along route to document weight and conform to state regulations. • Maintain driver logs according to I.C.C. regulations. • Inspect truck and trailer before and after trips and submit reports indicating truck condition. • Read and adhere to all transport assignment materials/instructions. • Secure load on trailer during transit to ensure safety of product, truck, trailer and driver. • Service truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid to maintain tractor-trailer as required. • Communicate consistently with the main office to manage routes, conditions, timelines and issues. • Perform assigned duties during event periods, as needed (on-call and on-site), in order to support event activities. Required Qualifications | • Current Class B CDL • Previous experience operating transport vehicles • Clean Motor Vehicle Record for the past 3 years • Current DOT medical card • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screens • Able to pass a criminal background check • Winter and mountain driving experience • Willingness to travel approximately 15 times per year and maintain on-the-road time as required • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Required Competencies | • Problem solving and decision making • Time management skills • Proactive and positive attitude • Must be reliable, punctual and flexible to adapting business needs • Ability to work effectively as part of a team • Willingness to be on-site as required (events can extent from very early to very late and it is not uncommon for load-out of an event to occur beyond midnight) • Ability to adhere to the values and mission of Spotlight Events, Inc. Preferred Qualifications | • Established history of effective, safe and reliable transport • Class A CDL • Prior experience in the production/theater environment and the type of equipment used. • Ability to showcase professionalism and a proactive/supportive attitude.
