Truck Driver Job in Aberdeen, Maryland

The Transfer Driver is responsible for driving a tractor trailer within an established region – in this case from our Aberdeen Distribution Center to other locations in the region, while assuring safe and timely delivery of products, to various delivery depots and stores West to Pittsburgh and through Central PA (to include Philadelphia Proper), throughout Central MD, Southern MD, DC, VA and the 95 Corridor as far North to NJ. Our drivers currently work five days per week with our incentive-based pay program that also offers the following: • Sign-on bonus • Average 3rd stop premium • No-Injuries Bonus • Excellent pay per mile • Average 6th day premium • Safety Bonus • More home time • No touch freight • Clean, new vehicles • Above average annual increases Responsibilities: • Ensures safe and on-time delivery of products while following all company procedures and standards • Operates longer CLV in inner city operations as required and deal with heavily traveled traffic lanes during routes • Travel approximately 500 miles per shift on a five day basis (Sunday-Thursday) while obeying posted speed limits and other rules of the road (flexible in considering more or less miles based on business necessity and driver preference) • Completes log books, vehicle condition reports and any other documents that the DOT may require • All loads start and stop at terminal every night; loading and unloading of product is not included Required Qualifications: • Must possess a valid Class-A CDL with current medical card with no restrictions • Minimum of 100,000 miles driving experience; will consider equivalent of professional driving experience plus professional training or certifications in lieu of 100,000 miles • Familiar with DOT regulations • Clean motor vehicle record • Ability to pass physical lift assessment and DOT physical • Physical ability to open doors, climb up and down to access cab as well as climb up in the rear of the trailer when required, and hook up lines • Ability to work nights and weekends (as needed) • All other duties as assigned Benefits: • Paid sick, personal and vacation time • Paid holidays • Medical, Dental and Vision insurance available • 401(k) plan with company match • Life Insurance • Long and short term disability • Employee Assistance Program • Employee purchasing discount Bob’s Discount Furniture is a high-growth, value-priced furniture and bedding retailer.
