Truck Drivers/Swampers for positions in CANADA (12 openings) Wage $28 per hour, minimum 2-year contract, full-time job plus overtime, Free Health Care from day 1 on the job. This is good, steady full time job that offers good opportunities for overtime, free Health Care from day 1 on the job, and the opportunity to obtain Permanent Residence in Canada. Our Client covers travel cost to Canada for selected worker and all Government fees. Selected workers will start as Swampers before they get a chance to progress to a full Driver position. This is NOT a Long-Haul job. It is a very physically demanding job, with a lot of manual labour to it, on which Swampers and Drivers get muddy, dirty, cold, wet, hot, etc. The job also requires constant tire chaining (securing chains to the tires so that the vehicles gain traction on muddy, icy roads). The job requires working 21 straight days per 7 days off, with up to 13 hours of work per day. Client overview Our Client is a leading Oil Service company specializing in transportation. They are located in Boyle, a small town in Northern Alberta, from which site locations that require moving of Oil Rigs can be easily accessed. Requirements - US Citizens / Residents only; - Minimum 5 years experience driving Trucks with a Flat Deck for Heavy Equipment hauling, including oversized loads; - Know how to operate winch Trucks for Oversize Loads, Manual and Power Tools (Wrenches, Sockets, Hammers, Plybars, etc ) - Experience keeping a drivers' log; writing routine reports and correspondence; reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manual - Valid US CDL License with a clean drivers' abstract - No Criminal record, no DUI's; - Able to read, interpret and correctly use maps, GPS, mile markers, signs and other to locate job sites; Able to understand dispatchers and follow their instructions; - Highly motivated to work in Canada and eventually obtain Permanent Residence in Canada; - Committed to do a hard, physically demanding job; - Willing to work 13 hours per day, transporting Hazardous and non-hazardous materials; Will work 21 days and have 7 days off; - High School Diploma; - Math Skills: be able to Add, Subtract, Multiply and Divide, use fractions and decimals; - Will work under various conditions (from very hot to very cold, to snow and rain) and terrain (from flat to hilly, muddy to dusty, icy and uneven); - Able to lift weight (at least 75 pounds to waist level and 45 pounds overhead), grasp, handle, pull, walk, stand, climb, bend, reach, squat, stoop. - Useful to have Red Cross First Aid Course/Certification and other safety training; - Will be Drug and Alcohol Tested monthly; - Able to acquire knowledge required to move into a Driving/Operator Position; be courteous and helpful to clients at all times; promote team work and respect; good personal hygiene; ensure that all documents are handed in to office at the end of each shift Duties - Will start assisting Drivers, Truck Pushers, Dispatchers and Management with labour and directing of Trucks and Equipment; - Securement of Loads onto truck using chains, straps, and other means; - Follow safety criteria; - Maintenance and Cleaning of Equipment; - Always being on time; - Being on call all the time during scheduled workdays; You can have a new bright future working in a one of the safest countries and more dynamic economies in the world, with Free Health Care from day 1 on the job.
