Job Title — Freight delivery driver Job Description — The driver is responsible for safely loading, securing, transporting, and unloading by pallet jack, dolly, or hand, multiple stops each day. The driver is also responsible for keeping their truck clean and inspected for safe operation. Additionally, the driver will also be responsible for professional demeanor and interaction with all persons encountered each day. Job Responsibilities Transport finished goods and materials by 26’ box truck to and from customer warehouse or distribution center to job-site Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and deliver to shop for preventative maintenance Communicate with dispatch and/or customers and meet delivery schedules Log each job stop from pick up to delivery and record proof of delivery and fuel receipts Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, and route designations) as well as with company policies and procedures. Safely maneuver truck into loading or unloading positions Acknowledge daily dispatch and verify delivery instructions Report defects, accidents or violations Job Requirements At least 21 years old Valid Class C driving license Proven work experience as a box truck driver /willing to train Possess and maintain a smartphone Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, smart phone, smart phone apps, etc) Proficiency with delivery equipment (lift gate, pallet jack, hand carts, etc) /willing to train Ability to safely lift 50 lbs Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations /willing to train No recent moving or driving violations Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc) Good communication skills Reports to — Dispatch manager
