Avenue NW Edmonton, Alberta T5V 0A1 Work Location: Various locations in the Edmonton, AB region Type of Employment: Full-time – permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Duties: Operate and drive tractor-trailers to transport goods Ensure the safety and security of cargo Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment Receive and relay information to central dispatch Answer clients’ inquiries when transporting goods and address customers' complaints or concerns Ensure all delivery documents are properly maintained during the workday and are available for inspection upon request by management and/or state traffic safety officers Apply knowledge of driving and/or commercial driving skills in maneuvering in difficult locations, heavy traffic, inclement weather, or tight loading dock areas. Load and unload goods Pay and receive payments for goods Perform emergency roadside repairs Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption Fueling Requirements - Education: Completion of secondary school is required. - Experience: A minimum of 7 months of experience is required. - Be eligible to obtain a class 1 MELT license Work conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, and a Combination of sitting, standing and walking.
