We pride ourselves in being reliable, punctual, and professional, and are looking to grow our team with individuals that will complement what we have created. We are seeking self-motivated, well-organized, and punctual Class A truck drivers to fill two routes. (Same-day regional and a 4-6 day over-the-road (OTR) Southwest route). Please note that our business is 24/7/365. We do operate on weekends, overnights, and holidays. Any route that lands on a holiday will still take place and the holiday pay rate will be in effect. Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Perform (daily) pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete the necessary paperwork - Collect and follow delivery instructions, verifying transport details and routes - Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate - Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions - Ensure cargo is secure and ready for transport following appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods - Load and unload trucks, operating loading-related equipment, as necessary - Operate equipment to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers - Must maintain good communication with dispatch. Must call the office every ½ hour if you are waiting to be loaded or unloaded at a customer location - Use local or regional geographical knowledge to determine vehicle routes. Read and interpret maps or use GPS enabled devices - Obtain receipts/BOL, signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required - Examine and report vehicle malfunctions, defects, accidents, traffic violations, required maintenance, or damage to the vehicles - Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order - Maintain a clean vehicle and perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as adding oil, fuel, and radiator fluid, or performing minor repairs - Maintain logs (e-log) of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal DOT regulations - Documenting/Recording Information. Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations. Requirements and Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Commercial Driver's License – CDL A Minimum 3 years with Commercial Driver’s License Minimum 3 years of Tractor Trailer, Reefer and Dry Van experience Must be at least 25 years of age Clean driving record and background check Must pass DOT physical to include drug screen and complete Physical Ability Testing Proficient using GPS and other routing systems Must be punctual to work and be able to handle road stress and detention stress Must have a thorough knowledge of the DOT Regulations, regarding driving and driver responsibility Able to operate an electric lift, forklift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc. (preferred) Ability to lift and exert up to 60 pounds of force for connecting hoses, turning valves, and dropping landing gear Reasonable manual dexterity for pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls and valves Work in various inside and outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards Walk, lift, push, pull, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel and crouch frequently Sit for considerable periods of time
