Summary: A fiberglass manufacturer of truck covers is looking for an experienced driver to delivers finished goods over intercity routes or spanning several states. Assist in unloading products while recording the amount and type of cargo being delivered. Responsibilities: • Transport finished goods over land to and from retail centers • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Drive planned routes and meet delivery schedules; document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts • Provide customer service as the point of contact during the unloading process • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route, designations, parking, break periods etc.) as well as with company policies and procedures • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions • Collect and verify delivery instructions; report defects, accidents or violations • Proven working experience as a truck driver with a minimum of 6-12 months of commercial motor vehicle driving experience required • High school education or GED preferred • Trucking school diploma (preferred) • Valid truck driving license • Able to operate Freightliner with 53’ Van Type Trailers • No recent moving or driving violations • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.) • Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations License (s) and/or Certificate (s): • Valid commercial driver’s license with acceptable class A driving record • Class A CDL required for this position • Possess current DOT Health Card or ability to pass DOT physical (personally responsible for DOT renewal) Physical Demands: • Must be able to pass random and required Drug and Alcohol tests
