OTR Driver Responsibilities: Safely transporting freight between various locations over long distances on or before deadline. Obtaining clients’ signatures and delivery date on completion of each delivery. Carefully planning routes to ensure that deliveries are completed in a timely manner. Ensuring the truck has sufficient fuel at all times. Reporting all vehicle related issues for urgent attention to owner and dispatcher. Maintaining a logbook. Completing, storing, & submitting all necessary documentation, including expense receipts. Notifying the dispatcher, owner and customer of any delay that may affect scheduled delivery times. OTR Driver Requirements: Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). A clean MVR and no felonies. 4 years of proven experience working as an OTR driver. Take DOT mandated and random drug tests as requested. Sound knowledge of and adherence to road safety regulations. The ability to use road maps and GPS devices. Strong time management skills & effective communication skills.
