General Responsibilities MUST HAVE A PROFICIENT UNDERSTANDING OF AND ADHERE TO ALL DOT REGULATIONS AT ALL TIMES. Must maintain a current, up-to-date, DOT Medical card at all times. Must maintain a current, up to date CDL driver’s license at all times. Be at work on time, in the appropriate attire and neat in appearance. Always check load for accuracy and safety. Review and sign off on documentation to verify that the loaded material is correct. Secure and strap the entire load before leaving yard. Loads must be tarped when it is raining, roads are wet, or rain is expected. Fog and snow will also cause material to become wet and must be tarped under such conditions. Driver must always follow the pre-established route; supervisor must approve any exceptions. Delays or breakdowns must be immediately reported. If there is a chance the route might not be completed, notify office as soon as possible. Always clean up bands, corner protectors, and cover sheets at delivery site. HOS logbooks are to be done through our Descartes, elog, system provided in our trucks. Proficient understanding of how to use this system is required. All Hour of Service logbooks are to be done through our elog system. Training will be provided. All fuel inputs are to be entered into the Descartes system. Physical DVIRs (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports), better known as pre and post trip inspections, are to be completed and signed off before and after every trip. Reports to be turned in to management daily. Tarps must be removed and rolled upon completion of route. General Requirements Must have at least 3 yrs. proven experience Must be able to proficiently speak, hear and read English. Must have unloading/loading experience Position is not OTR, but must be available to work overnights on occasion if needed. Must be able to have use of fingers and limbs to be able to safety operate CMV controls. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to climb up and down from truck cab and trailer. Must be able to physically lift, carry, or move up to 100lbs.
